Dr. Joshua Cetron is a data scientist, quantitative social scientist, and applied statistician with a Ph.D. from Harvard University and over a decade of experience in research, scholarship, and data analysis.
Josh earned his Ph.D. in psychology from Harvard in 2023, specializing in interdisciplinary research across the fields of cognitive neuroscience, social psychology, and multivariate statistics. He also holds a B.A. in neuroscience from Dartmouth College, where he graduated summa cum laude with high honors in 2016. Josh was awarded Presidential Scholarships for his research at both Harvard and Dartmouth, and received multiple graduate and undergraduate awards for distinction in teaching, research, and academic achievement.
Since June of 2023, Josh has worked as a Data Science Specialist at the Institute for Quantitative Social Science at Harvard, a selective team providing methods and analysis consulting services and collaborative support to researchers across Harvard and MIT.
Josh's technical expertise includes experimental methods, exploratory data analysis, generalized and multilevel regression modeling of empirical data, and programming and data visualization in R. Beyond simply understanding these methods, Josh is an award-winning teacher of advanced statistical analysis, and has worked with students from a variety of research and technical backgrounds to bring their research to the cutting edge.
